Key Responsibilities - Conduct thorough assessments of patients, ordering necessary diagnostic procedures, and developing individualized care strategies
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses, working collaboratively with physicians or independently (as allowed by credentialing)
- Providing education to patients and families on preventive care, wellness strategies, and disease management
- Prescribing medications and therapies consistent with professional scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up care and management of chronic conditions
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless and holistic healthcare
- Accurately documenting patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Requirements - Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Required Certifications - Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Minnesota
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain within 90 days)
