smartdept. is searching for a Web Designer with strong UX expertise to lead the redesign of our luxury client's website. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience. This is a fully remote contract opportunity.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for crafting visually engaging layouts while also mapping out intuitive user journeys and interaction paths. We’re looking for someone who can balance creative design with a deep understanding of user experience, ensuring every element guides visitors seamlessly toward their goals. You’ll collaborate closely with our development partner, so you can focus on front-end design and user flow while they handle the backend coding. You will be the visionary steward of the brand’s visual identity, shaping every creative touchpoint to embody an uncompromising ultra-luxe aesthetic. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in creating a visual identity that resonates with the world’s most discerning travelers. This role demands an innate understanding of the nuances of a luxury brand aesthetic.
What You’ll Do:
Website Design:
Continuously refine and elevate imagery on the website to reflect the pinnacle of ultra-luxury travel.
Design compelling website elements with meticulous attention to detail.
Designing a homepage and supplement pages, along with creating a scalable design system, component library, and a responsive header and footer.
The ideal candidate will incorporate the luxury brand into a compelling visual storytelling strategy, ensuring both mobile and desktop responsiveness.
Additional responsibilities include collaborating on brand storytelling, applying SEO best practices, supporting visual and text content, and providing website training or documentation for handoff.
Your focus will be on front-end design, user journey mapping, and seamless collaboration throughout the project.
