ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Retail Operations team in shoulder seasons to procure retail inventory to meet the company’s goals
  • Research and source products that align with the company’s target market and business objectives
  • Ensure product selection meets quality, pricing, margin and P2P targets
  • Manage budgets to ensure cost-effective purchasing strategies
  • Identify opportunities to reduce procurement cost without compromising quality
  • Be confident and comfortable with negotiation tactics
  • Assist in maintaining high in-stock rates through the summer months by placing reorders, initiating store-to-store transfers and supporting store replenishment from the retail warehouse
  • Strategic markdown plan for low-performing stock that will not negatively affect margin
  • Share responsibility for profit and loss of stores: a) sales; b) cost of sales; c) inventory
  • Forecast buys and present a retail receipt and sales flow to Director for all purchasing decisions
  • Coordinate with inventory team, Operations management, and warehouse as required to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Work with the warehouse team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products, be proactive in creating resolutions
  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  • Ensure that all merchandise and food product information is up to date in the POS system, this includes but is not limited to writing purchase orders, invoice processing and data entry, min/max
  • May assist in Retail pro programming, training, and troubleshooting
  • Adheres to company expectations and standards for vendor relations and compliance procedures
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Adequate Product knowledge training with staff and information readily available
  • Serve as a leader on location to implement best practices including superior customer service, loss prevention and merchandising practices
  • Weekly site visits to ensure adequate stock levels and merchandise displayed properly to maximize $perSF
  • Aid guests and teammates where needed
  • Store set-up/shut down procedures, monthly stock audits and inventory control
  • Analyzing Sell though reports and presenting on sales performance weekly on team call
  • Be a utility player who can complete a variety of job duties

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Retail Management or buying preferred
  • Knowledge of purchasing, merchandising, merchandise costs, and negotiation tactics
  • Effective budgeting and planning skills required
  • Must possess strong communication skills (oral & written with all levels of management and staff to promote and accomplish organizational goals, always suggesting ideas and solutions
  • Must be courteous and friendly in dealing with guests, co-workers and vendors
  • Maintain relationships with current suppliers as well as establishing new vendor relationships
  • Be willing and able to work solo or as part of a team
  • Be organized with a great eye for detail
  • Work-ethic and commitment to the team and guest is key
  • Be kind to others and always bring your best
  • Be helpful and friendly, willing to go the extra mile
  • Be relaxed, flexible and able to handle a few curve balls
  • A valid US drivers’ license is required.
