Job Title: Painter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled painter to prime, paint, and touchup vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes. The role involves masking, unmasking, and adjusting masking to meet specifications, as well as washing and conditioning parts as necessary. You will be required to perform light bodywork, disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation. Additionally, you will flush tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers and mix all types of paints for proper color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency. Your duties will include performing titrations, mixing or adjusting chemicals as necessary, applying decals, stencils, and rust-proofing, and maintaining work area and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prime, paint, and touchup vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes.
• Mask, unmask, or adjust masking as necessary to ensure specifications are met.
• Wash and condition parts as necessary, performing light bodywork.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation.
• Flush tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers.
• Mix all types of paints for proper color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency.
• Perform titrations and mix or adjust chemicals as necessary.
• Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.
• Maintain work area and equipment, including preventative maintenance tasks.
• Inspect products before, during, and after the paint process to ensure specifications are met.
• Transport, move, or guide parts, subassemblies, or assemblies before, during, or after the paint process and to the next operation.

Essential Skills

• 6+ months of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ year of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.

Work Environment

Work inside paint booths in a hot environment with strong paint odors. Painters must wear a full paint suit and respirator, ensuring no facial hair for proper fit. Dress code includes jeans, steel toes, and a clean work shirt. The current workforce in the weld department is at 300 employees, aiming for 400 to be fully staffed. Minimal overtime is expected at present, eventually increasing to 40-45 hours per week.

This is a Permanent position based out of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47320.00 - $54912.00/yr.

Sign On Bonus: Eligible for full time employees (Contractors would be eligible upon conversion)
$1,500 Total
$500 @ 3 months of employment
$500 @ 6 months of employment
$500 @ 12 months of employment
