Job Responsibilities Are you an experienced professional looking for new opportunities to further your career? The SC Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply! The Regional Integration Officer (RIO) serves as a regional integrator and coalition builder, enabling a statewide coalition of partners with an interest in Veterans to create and sustain an environment where Veterans can thrive as valued and contributing members of the South Carolina community. The RIO employs a network of volunteers-trained and managed through the Palmetto Pathfinder Program-as an extension of their role to provide referrals and assistance to Veterans and their famines. The RIO works across multiple Community Veteran Engagement Boards, as well as Veteran Engagement/Action Councils, to collaborate with County Veterans Affairs Officers in optimizing the Coalition's efforts. The goal is to ensure that all Veterans and their families can access the benefits to which they are entitled. The RIO integrates the efforts of all entities-federal, state, private sector, non-profit, and others within the assigned region that provide services to Veterans or their families, both inside and outside the South Carolina Veteran Coalition. They are responsible for building, strengthening, and maintaining a region-wide coalition of Veteran-focused organizations and are an expert in referral management systems.
Responsibilities of the Regional Integrator Officer: - Using the South Carolina Veteran Coalition as a system of record, RIOs integrate the efforts of all entities-federal, state, private sector, non-profit, and others-within their assigned region that provide services to Veterans and their families. They build, strengthen, and maintain a region-wide coalition of Veteran-focused organizations.
- Community Veteran Engagement Councils are our main point of connection to a region, must engage and encourage growth of local Veteran Engagement/Advocacy Councils and act as a liaison between each. Works "by," "with," and, "around" CVAOs in order to ensure that all Veterans have awareness of services, access to services, and timely submission of benefit claims. Shares the available resources from the region-wide coalition of Veteran-focused organizations with CVAOs in order to better support Veterans and their families. Attends Regional and/or County meetings that provide updates from local services to ensure inclusiveness off all available resources, always looking to grow the network.
- Coordinates veteran-related activities within the assigned region, with a targeted focus on higher education, entrepreneurship, employment, the South Carolina Veteran Coalition, and SC Smart Start Virtual Transition Assistance Program. Supports outreach and collaboration efforts with colleges, universities, workforce agencies, business incubators, and veteran-serving organizations to advance SCDVA' s mission in these core areas. Maintains open and consistent communication with all assigned coordinators within the State Coalition Integration Division to ensure alignment of regional efforts with agency-wide goals. Actively participates in working groups aligned with SCDVA' s Lines of Effort specifically those related to employment, education, and coalition growth - and maintains sufficient subject matter knowledge to represent the Director when needed.
- Coordinates and conducts briefings at regional military installation bases, including Transition Assistance Program (TAP) sessions, Boots to Business workshops, Pre-Separation counseling, and Retirement briefs. Promotes and raises awareness of SCDVA's Division of Workforce Enhancement products and programs, including SC Smart Start, Transitioning Service member Workshops, Veteran Employer Information and Hiring Sessions, and the Entrepreneurship Summit
Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a field related to business management, operations management, or leadership development and 10 years of experience leading diverse organizations
OR 10 years of experience leading organizations comprised of diverse elements over which the leader has limited to no authority.

- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Work is performed primarily in an office environment, but travel and field work will be required in areas where there are some risks and hazards that are known, predictable, and controllable.
