Job brief

GLC Advisors is seeking a Vice President (VP) to focus on M&A and capital raising in our technology practice supporting a highly productive group consisting of three Managing Directors all based in Denver, CO.

We are seeking someone with direct investment banking and sell-side M&A experience. This person will have immediate exposure to clients and deals and be expected to be a meaningful contributor right away. This person will play a variety of roles on the team including managing client interactions, serving as an MD thought partner, training negotiation best-practices, and mentoring junior bankers.

The Vice President role is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing day-to-day deal execution, including key transaction deliverables, client interactions, and certain elements of buyer/investor interaction, as well as providing training and mentorship to junior bankers. The VP role is also expected to begin building client development and marketing skillsets.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the process, planning, and execution of deliverables.
• Takes a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving and creation of novel solutions to problems.
• Understands the importance of relationships to enable effective teamwork. Modifying personal style, focusing on the needs of others, and listening effectively to ensure effective outcomes for group endeavors.
• Takes a dynamic approach to work characterized by initiating decisions and actions. Concentrates on achieving the outcomesof a process or a project while adheringto the overall strategy of the organization.
• Contributes to creating a culture of accountability and performance.
• High energy with a desire to stay busy and engaged.
• Actively participates in meetings such as drafting sessions, client Q&A, and buyer calls. Establish client trust in client management meetings.
• CIM oversight: Draft, create core positioning, and develop strategic elements of the CIM. (Executive summary, products, and growth). Build the CIM outline and provide leadership to associates and analysts on drafting the balance of the deck, scoping, and building the market and financial sections. Responsible for detailed review and comments before draft is sent to Managing Directors.
• Outline, provide guidance, and oversee junior bankers on financial modeling and data analysis.
• Oversee funds flow modeling.
• Focus on business development and networking with lawyers and accountants

Requirements and skills

• Bachelor of Business Administration/Arts/Sciences required
• A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience, including having direct junior investment banking experience, corporate development, and/or private equity experience.
• Experience with 15+ completed M&A transactions.
• Executive level presence and confident in interacting with Managing Directors and senior level executive clientele.
• Apply critical thinking and anticipate issues before they arise.
• Knowledge of deal sourcing and relationship management. An understanding of organizational culture and the ability to function effectively within its social structure.
• Manage a significant portion of buyer calling activity on live deals (50+ buyers per broad auction).
• Demonstrate strong senior-level judgement.
• Mentor junior bankers on time management, project prioritization, and team communication: manage, train, and develop the associates and analysts. Set timelines and manage process deliverables.

Compensation Range: A base salary of at least $200,000 per year. The rate of pay will be dependent upon the selected candidates’ relevant skills and experience. There is potential for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance. Benefits may include 401(k), medical, dental, vision.
