The Opportunity

This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division .

The International Logistics Analyst (ILA) is responsible for assuring that Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain customer service and transportation management objectives are met. This includes serving as the primary supply chain liaison with customers to ensure on time delivery of product and to ensure the highest quality of transportation service through the selection and development of global partnerships with carriers selected on a basis of mutual commitment to meet Abbott’s standards of service, safety, and compliance with regulations and continuous quality improvement. The ILA position is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of product and documentation required to meet the import regulations of Abbott affiliates and direct customers. The ILA is responsible for leading efforts to proactively address supply and demand issues and driving initiatives to improve the efficiencies of the supply chain in support of maximizing Abbott’s sales. The ILA has responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with our transportation providers and for analyzing global transportation routings to ensure optimal results are realized.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Allocation of product to ensure maximum container utilization and minimize transportation costs. Coordination of shipments with source warehouses and transportation providers.

• Customer service: · Manage the shipment of product from manufacturing and distribution locations in the United States to Abbott affiliates and direct Abbott customers worldwide

• Coordination of all required export/import documentation.

• Ensure prompt, accurate and efficient handling of communications concerning shipments and any other relevant aspect of the business.

• Monitor key performance indicators for responsible area, perform root cause analysis, and develop and implement corrective action plans to improve levels of performance.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall effectiveness of the supply chain, increase customer service, and reduce operating costs.

• Lead cross-functional project teams to support integration of new businesses and responsibilities for Columbus logistics operations.

• Maintain customer and shipping requirements including system parameters, policies, and procedures.

• Provide training support to customer service specialists and affiliates on supply chain processes, procedures, and systems.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external supply chain partners.

• Act as customer representative in the Abbott Nutrition supply chain
• Analyze all phases of our electronic freight payment system, i.e., EDI interfaces, rate audit, cash control flow, accounting interface, systems audit, third party freight payment company, etc.

• Recommend revisions and alternatives for enhancements to the system that will improve efficiencies.

• Provide administration support to determine equipment controls with global transportation providers to ensure proper shipment and container pool requirements to support multiple plant sites throughout the logistics network.

• Assist in the evaluation, selection and implementation of EDI networks with our transportation providers to update the Columbus system providing efficiency in freight payment, ocean bookings, documentation, rating, shipment tracking and distribution of our products on a global basis.

• Assist in the management of transportation support functions to Division, global affiliate and direct customers, i.e., routing instructions, carrier service, financial performance and transportation expertise.

• Analyze and present to all levels of management alternative transportation opportunities to enhance Global Logistic providers’ performance and reduce transportation expenses.

• Conduct review and analyses of multiple internal and external reports to drive process improvements.

Accountability/Scope

• The ILA position impacts transportation cost savings, transportation expenses, product movement and on-time delivery of international air, ocean and inland shipments.

• The ILA must possess a good understanding of the logistics role in the Abbott Nutrition supply chain.

• This position must be able to make decisions regarding distribution of product to ensure cost effective transportation and timely delivery of product.

• The position requires the ability to proactively identify and communicate issues affecting on time delivery of product to the market.

• The International Logistics Analyst is expected to resolve day-to-day customer service and transportation related issues independently.

• The position is also expected to take a leadership role in the identification and implementation of supply chain solutions to address supply and logistic issues.

• This position is also expected to drive continuous improvement supply chain initiatives in support of maximizing Abbott sales.

Required Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years so experience (3-4 exempt level years)

Preferred

• Effective user of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, etc)
• 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, International Logistics Operations, Customer Service, EDI Systems, International Transportation Negotiations
• Experience with SAP Symphony, SAP BPCS, Transportation Management Systems (E2Open, Cargosmart) a PLUS
• Export/Import Transportation Operations desirable.
• Experience managing multiple projects or programs, stakeholder and vendor management

The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 – $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
