As the Director of Special Education Programs , your top priority will be to enhance student achievement in Grades K-12 . You will implement instructional practices endorsed by ChanceLight Education and lead a dedicated team to ensure effective delivery of quality instruction. Key Responsibilities: Provide vision and leadership to promote student achievement and effective day-to-day operations by supervising staff and implementing performance management plans. Participate in the employment and selection process to ensure a highly effective site team. Guide and support teachers in developing classroom schedules and maintaining student data systems to ensure appropriate services based on individual goals. Assist teachers in delivering instruction that fosters social skills, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Monitor and evaluate staff effectiveness, communicating and coaching for continuous development. Recognize accomplishments and proactively address issues for a productive operational environment. Ensure a safe and compliant learning environment for students and staff. Oversee various school operations, including administration, financial management, and community relations. Act as a liaison between the school and district, communicating effectively with families and community members. Analyze staff professional development needs and align training with instructional goals. Demonstrate leadership through effective communication and team building. Evaluate and report on staff and student performance, maintaining accurate records. Compile assessment data to measure growth and inform instructional practices. Model and support effective instructional strategies that encourage active learning. Manage student behavior using positive behavior interventions and supports. Stay updated on research-based educational practices. Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders for the benefit of the organization. This position operates with oversight and guidance from the regional vice president to provide leadership and support for our education site. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Master's degree in educational leadership or special education preferred. State and district requirements for licensure and certification must be met. Current or in-progress special education credential. Minimum of 3 years in educational leadership or school administration. Experience with special education services, particularly for autism and emotional/behavioral disorders. Strong knowledge of administrative operations, regulatory compliance, and curriculum development. Skilled in building relationships with students, families, and community partners. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in relevant technology and instructional practices. Demonstrate servant leadership qualities, focusing on team needs and problem solving.
