Are you ready to take your skills to new heights? The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as an Airport Maintenance Technician . This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and smooth operations of our airport.

What You'll Do:
As an Airport Maintenance Technician, you'll tackle a variety of important tasks that keep our airport running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Grounds Maintenance : Mowing, landscaping, planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and maintaining fences.
• Paved Areas : Sweeping, repairing, and ensuring the safety of all paved surfaces, including airport runways
• Equipment Operation : Operating, fueling, and cleaning trucks, tractors, and other powered tools.
• Building Repairs : Plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, and other facility maintenance tasks.
• Airfield Systems : Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as security gates and passenger loading bridges.
• Weather Response : Removing snow and ice during winter conditions.

This job involves working outdoors in all types of weather. Since we are open 24/7, 365 days a year, you may need to work occasional holidays. About once every 9 weeks, you'll work one weekend and one week of evening shifts.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A High School diploma or equivalent .
• A valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to obtain one within 30 days) and a clean driving record.
• The ability to pass a TSA security clearance and drug test.
• Preferred : Experience operating equipment and basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing systems.
