Lyssan
Lyssan was my first game, published with the help of 487 backers on Kickstarter. (At the time, that made it one of the top 10 backed boardgame projects on KS. Those were the early days.)
It’s a backstabby game for 3-4 friends who can laugh about betraying each other. It’s meant to play like a cross between speed-chess and Diplomacy.
Many players have told me they like turning it into an all-day negotiation game. I think that’s fun if you’re winning, but the last bit of the game can be less fun if you can see a loss in your future. The game was always meant to play fast, among other reasons, so you wouldn’t get stuck in that mood for long. But you do you.
There’s many things I learned from making Lyssan. For one, don’t name your game something that no one can agree on how to pronounce.
